Forgotten twins

Spent almost the entire evening on MSN Messenger with a friend, discussing about a photo project we discussed about a long time ago. Not sure if we will wanna continue doing it soon or perhaps KIV it for another half a year, as we are busy with other things in life. We exchanged lots of pretty crazy ideas for things we plan to do, though it sounds rather weird as he’s more into making videos while I’m into photography. Still we had fun throwing all sorts of dare & ideas at each other. 😀 I love talking to people with fresh and crazy ideas.

Between all the crazy talk, he asked for my opinion about getting a Rollei Minidigi camera for his cute sister. That made me ‘hang’ for a few seconds. I went ‘Oh damn! I’ve totally forgotten about these two little cameras!’. Quickly I digged my dry cabinet to check if they were still around, then loaded them with batteries to make sure they didn’t die in their sleep. Also, I took a couple of shots with the autofocus version, as well as finding a couple of other photos I took some time ago when I bought it from a guy in a local forum.

The one I tested was the one on the left which is the autofocus version. I’ve yet to really use the one on the right though, as I purchased it earlier as a present for Fitzand when he turned one month old. At that time, only the focus free version was available. Nah, I still do not dare let him play with it now. Maybe in another year’s time.

Taken with the Minidigi resting on a milk powder tin in the kitchen. Cross-processed action applied in Photoshop.

Taken some time ago while driving home. A lil bit of Holga feel, perhaps due to my dirty windscreen.

Taken in my pretty dim room … handheld!

Think it’s time I bring these two babies out for some photo shooting instead of letting them hibernate in the cabi. I’m pretty impressed with the output from the AF version. It does take a while to auto focus but hey … I can’t be expecting too much from such a little ‘toy’!
